Hello friend,
Happy day to you. Really been quite a while since
we last corresponded. The twists and turns of life- such an amazing
experience. Anyways, glad to be able to pen a few words to you today.
Sometimes,in
our quest and journey towards the realization of our dreams,we tend to
lose our way. Circumstances, situations, and even people(friends, well
wishers and even enemies) make us deviate and forget our primary
objective. We begin to wonder and wander. At such times,it is easy to
become depressed,as we wonder if we would ever get it right. If we'd
ever "arrive"-turn our dreams into reality. Have you ever been there? I
bet you have. Who knows, you might even be there right now. Just want to
offer a little advice in that regard.
Firstly,this experience of
getting lost is not unique to you. You'd be amazed to realize that so
many successful and great individuals down through history, did
experience this,at one time in their life. Infact, some did experience it
many times in their life's journey. Yet they did not give up. To be
lost is one thing,to find your way back is another matter entirely. So
the golden question should be how did they do it- find their way back.
In
my own studies,I have discovered one unique feature among great
individuals. At some point in their lives, they learnt to identify and
listen to what I call the "Voice Within". They learnt to guide their
lives by a kind of inner compass- an internal locus of control. They
came to understand that deep within each of us,there lies the blueprint
of our lives. It was put there by the creator before we were born. A
guidance system that is expected to lead us on the path of destiny.
Unfortunately, most of us never get to discover this truth. So we spend
our entire lives seeking for answers outside ourselves- looking for
answers "without",when they reside "within". But this select few(bless
their hearts) travel a different path. They embody the advice given by
one of the greatest business visionaries of the 20th century, when he
said:
"Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your
own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your
heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to
become. Everything else is secondary."- Steve Jobs
As a
result, whenever it seems like they have missed their way, they retreat
within- in moments of solitude. They retreat to rediscover. They don't
expend and exhaust themselves like most people do,when all seems lost.
Great souls understand that there lies a veritable well of strength and
power within themselves. It is in all of us. But this well can only be
discovered and harnessed in moments when you are alone with yourself. No
wonder so few have come to appreciate such golden moments of solitude.
Most people would rather be with everybody else, than spend some time
ALONE- with themselves. Solitude scares them. If only they knew. That
every great soul have at one time, drunk from the well of solitude. Where
the real YOU is discovered.
So my friend, are you groping. Does
all seem lost. It is not. If you can retreat within yourself, from time
to time; if you can search out the voice within, and learn to
listen, again and again, you will never be permanently lost. And yours
will be a life lived fully.
Talk to you soon.
