1) Gratitude.
Gratitude is one of the most important ingredients of happy and
fulfilled life. It’s very easy to start taking our blessings for
granted, especially, if the hectic lifestyle makes us forget about how
to be present in the moment. Personally, I love taking time every
morning (it can be only couple of minutes) to express gratitude; I feel
thankful for my family and friends, for good health and new
opportunities that the new day will bring…A good portion of gratitude in
the morning can boost your mood and fill your entire day with positive
vibe.
2) Learn to live in the moment.
Living in the moment is essential and important component of
fulfilled and happy living. Here is the great quote by Buddha: “Do not
dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on
the present moment.” Yes, that’s right, past is never to come back and
future is something we can’t grasp, the only time we are left with is
“now”! Let’s notice and enjoy the present moment as much as we can! Here
is another great quote on this by Monique Lhuillier: “I am a
perfectionist but I know how to live life. When I’m working, it’s 100%.
When I’m with my friends, I put everything away and enjoy life. When I
come home to my kids, it’s pure joy and everything’s worth it. Every
time, I really focus 100 percent on one thing. I’ve learned how to
juggle my life and I feel like now I have the perfect balance.”
3) Learn to filter things and be positive.
Learn to filter your thoughts and situations; learn to let go of
things that don’t bring you joy and focus on those that make you happy.
Chose positive mental attitude, life is a lot easier for those who see
the the glass half full. Here is the great quote by Willie Nelson that
tells it all: “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones,
you’ll start having positive results.”
4) Stay true to yourself…
Life will become a lot happier, when you start choosing to tell the
truth at all times, and, especially, to yourself…Here is what William
Shakespeare had to say about it: “To thine own self be true, and it must
follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.”
5) If the chance comes – take it!
The only way to find out if something is going to work out good or
fail, is to try…How many times we lost our chances in life, because we,
simply, didn’t dare to take them…This wise saying by Michael Jordan
tells it all: “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I
can’t accept not trying.”
6) No regrets.
Live your life with no regrets and never look back: “Nobody gets to
live life backward. Look ahead, that is where your future lies.” (Quote
by Ann Landers)
7) Believe in yourself.
Belief in your own capacities can help you accomplish great things,
and the lack of it – is a sure ticket on the train of failure. If you
want to do something, don’t just try to do it, be confident, be sure
that you will succeed. Here is a great quote from the Star Wars movie by
Yoda: “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”
8) Don’t accept failure as your final destination.
Benjamin Franklin said: “Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure.
Continue to reach out.” Let our failures and mistakes motivate us even
more. Actually, failures are only steps to our future success. Keep your
goal in mind and walk your life’s road with confidence. Here is another
great quote by Napoleon Hill: “Before success comes in any man’s life,
he’s sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures.
When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to
do is to quit. That’s exactly what the majority of men do.” Well, let’s
remember that failure is not our final destination.
9) Find ways to express your creativity.
Everyone of us has special talents and gifts. Often, hidden and
unexpressed, our gifts of creativity lay camouflaged under the weight of
our daily distractions and worries. Find time every day (even if it’s
only a half an hour) to figure out what is your field of creativity and
express yourself: whether you love playing an instrument, dance, sing,
paint or play football. Do things that make you feel alive and fill your
heart with enthusiasm and joy. Your life will become a lot happier and
more fulfilled, when you find time to enrich the world with the
expression of your creative talents and gifts. Pablo Picasso once
said: “Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when
you grow up”
10) Don’t conform.
You don’t need to try squeeze yourself into men established
standards. Live your life free of these borders. Don’t conform. Be
different. Think out of the box. Some rules are, definitely, meant to be
broken. How do you think progress comes to life? “The golden rule is
that there are no golden rules,” – George Bernard Shaw
11) Stop worrying about what other people might think about you.
Well, what other people think is their own business. Live your life
free of this trap. If you want to wear bright clothes, but you are
afraid of other people’s opinions, then you don’t live your life to the
full. Be free. Be happy. Be you. “What other people think about me is
not my business,” – Michael J. Fox
12) Find true love…
To live happy and fulfilled life we need to have harmony in all areas
of life. One of them is love life. If you are good looking, healthy and
wealthy, but you don’t have real love in your life, your existence
might not be complete. A beautiful and sincere relationship with another
person will enrich your life with real happiness and joy. Here is a
quote by Billy Graham: “Nothing can bring a real sense of security into
the home except true love.”
